12″ x 12″, 26″ x 36″, 12″ x 12″
Specially created as part of a group exhibit by the Frayed Edges art quilt group in Camden, Maine 2010
Meditating on the idea of “letters,” I created a landscape that includes elements that suggest a personal journal or story. There could be packages waiting on a doorstep or a message whispered through the windows. The leaves are unfurling a message of growth. Several of the images, techniques and motifs in this triptych are regular parts of my artistic lexicon. I return to them again and again like a mantra. I love the repetition of stitching tiny wild flowers, cutting stone shapes, stamping painted circles and writing on fabric.
